ADRAR TOUR: EXPERIENCE THE RICH HERITAGE OF MAURITANIA
I had an absolutely fantastic day with Mauritanian best tours, literally an experience for life. Mohammed organised a full days outing for me. I was picked up early in the morning by an English speaking guide and driver. The car was a 4WD in excellent condition, and the driver was superb. We covered 300 km through the desert, including the last 70 km with no visible tracks. On arrival, we were met by Sidi, a trained environmentalist. He had organised a local dhow, with a 2 man crew from the local fishing village. We sailed for 90 min out (at 7 knots), to the famous sandbanks of Iwik national park. Here, we witnessed the most incredible array of nesting birds, a colony of 500 pelicans, nesting cormorants, flamingoes, herons, skuas, gulls, terns and more. It was a spectacular view. We saw dolphins and fished our own lunch, which the crew cooked onboard. An absolutely wonderful experience. I cannot thank Mohammed, Sidi and the others enough. Highly, highly recommended, if you want to enjoy an outdoor adventure with amazing wildlife.
