Terjit is a well-known oasis 45 km south of Atar, nestled in a gorge on the western edge of the Adrar Plateau. Upon arrival, enjoy a quick lunch before heading to the station. Here, the legendary Iron Ore Train awaits.
Train Ride: Zouérat to Choum (approx. 5 hrs.)
Board the world-famous Iron Ore Train, one of the longest trains on earth. The goal is to ride in an open wagon, an authentic and adventurous way to experience the desert journey. Depending on conditions and restrictions on the day, your guide will advise on the best option.
If the train departs on schedule, it leaves around 1:00 PM. The ride takes you across stark Saharan landscapes, offering an unforgettable raw and rugged experience.

Arrival in Choum
