Each day was unique, offering a wonderful variety of landscapes and activities. We could not have wished for a better experience. Decent fees with all trips, dinners and enough water included. We were free to decide what to do and Issa would give us tips on what to do. The food was really our highlight of the trip, everyday various tea moments and fresh dinners and lunch everyday (really good fish from Issa). We could customise the itinerary to all we wanted to see and do. We had an amazing journey through Mauritania with Mohamed and his team, visiting Nouakchott - Terjit - Atar - Ouadane - Chinguetti - Nouakchott. Everything was exceptionally well organized, and the experience far exceeded expectations. Deide our English speaking tour guide was especially great. Highlights included: - The sand dunes of Chinguetti slowly overtaking the ancient town. - The old city of Ouadane, full of fascinating history. - Driving through endless desert landscapes and crossing dunes. - Cave art near the Amojjar Pass with views of the Adrar Plateau. - And of course, plenty of camels and warm hospitality everywhere! One unique moment was if you visit the ancient library in Chinguetti and meet Seïf Islam, bring a poem as you’ll be asked to recite one! When our return flight to Dakar was suddenly canceled by Air Senegal, Mohamed went above and beyond. He personally arranged a series of drivers to take us safely from Nouakchott to Dakar the same day, something he didn’t have to do, but did out of genuine care. That level of service is rare and truly appreciated. He is a really good tour guide with lots of knowledge and patience to talk about the city and his country. I enjoyed getting to know the different parts of the city where by myself I would not have known by myself. His English is excellent and therefore can explain and talk in very good detail. He made the tour great with his professionalism and personality. I enjoyed the most the sea and camel market where it is a great opportunity to understand local markets and see the beauty of the ocean. I definitely recommend for future travellers to have Mohamed as a tour guide.
